Pat Lampard - Book of Condolence
Everybody at Chelsea Football Club is absolutely devastated to hear the tragic news of the passing away of Pat Lampard, Frank’s mother. Our sincerest and deepest condolences go out to Frank, his father Frank Snr, sisters Natalie and Claire and to their immediate family and friends. Pat was a very familiar face to many people at Chelsea FC. Her unswerving support for her son’s career was evident at virtually every game that Frank participated in regardless of where it was being played, she would always be there to watch him with Frank’s dad. Pat will be deeply missed by everyone at Chelsea. Well, what can you say, eh? In what little time you had on earth, you managed what some people don't in an entire lifetime: a loving family and a happy life. While I can't say I knew you, I suppose I can pay tribute to your character, a character so evident in Frank. During the Cup, I realized the extent of Frank's determination as a player, his inability to give up, but when he stepped up to the penalty spot in Croatia, knowing that if he missedI just cried and thought, "Wow, now there's a man with a pair." I can only attribute that strength to the woman he loved like no other, to put that terrible year in the back of his mind and step up for his country. Before that match, he was my favorite midfielder, but at that moment, I gained an even greater sense of respect for him as a person. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you to look down on him, unable to push away his pain like you have for nearly thirty years, but he'll learn to deal with it in his own way. It'll never stop hurting, but it gets numb after a few years. Just ask my dad he's somewhere up there, too. The point is, don't worry about Frank. Yes, you could have taught him more things in life if you had more time, but with the values that you have already given him, Frank will keep learning and impart those same values into his children.
