Pat Lampard - Book of Condolence
Everybody at Chelsea Football Club is absolutely devastated to hear the tragic news of the passing away of Pat Lampard, Frank’s mother. Our sincerest and deepest condolences go out to Frank, his father Frank Snr, sisters Natalie and Claire and to their immediate family and friends. Pat was a very familiar face to many people at Chelsea FC. Her unswerving support for her son’s career was evident at virtually every game that Frank participated in regardless of where it was being played, she would always be there to watch him with Frank’s dad. Pat will be deeply missed by everyone at Chelsea. Dear Frank and family, When I found out that your mother was sick and was in hospital, I prayed for the best for her so she could recover as soon as possible. And I was so happy that God answered my prayer right before the Liverpool game last Tuesday. I read a statement on the website saying that she was in better condition. But, today I just found out that she actually just passed away. And I know that this is a really hard time for you guys the family of hers. I just want to say, my most heartfelt sympathy goes to all of you guys, The Lampards. I promise that tonight I will pray for her and I'm sure she's fine up there in heaven right now and watching and supporting you guys to continue with your life. And Frank, I just want to say that I'm sure that altough she's not here right now with you, she will be really proud of you for everything that you've done or are doing or will do in your life. And she will always love you forever. Be strong, and win tonight's game again Man. United. And then, we can dedicate tonight's victory for her. Dear Frank Lampard; I came to know thru the Man United forum with deep sorry about tour beloved mother's demise. I had posted my condolences at our forum & telegraph too. Even though I am a Man United fan from Dhaka Bangladesh, I hail you as one of the finnest football players in the world. An deep in my heart I question myself many time, why couldn't SAF sign you? Well, Frank; I was a champion national athlete at my late teens and early twenties in Bangladesh in the 1970s and lost my beloved mother in March 1973 - just 13 days before the National Championships. As an athlete I have soft corner all sportsmen of the world. So, I must earnestly convey this message to you that you are not alone in mourning the death of your mother, sportsmen/women of the world are mourning too - there are millions in the world who are praying for your mother's soul to rest in peace. I know the feeling & how you feel! It felt like the whole world was dark and meaningless for weeks after my mother's death. I was devasted mentally, and would sit close to my mother's grave from morning till dask - many times weeping & weeping - but mom never returning or answering to my cries!! Then, after about three weeks, I recieved a bunch of condolence letters from about 20 junior boys from my High School I attended. The high school (Public school) I used to attend was "Faujdarhat Cadet College" in Chittagong, Bangladesh (Classes VII-XII). One of junior kid at the school, whom I used to punish more as a senior for his mischiveous acts in his letter wrote that he had lost his mother while he was only 5, And that they were 3 brothers & 3 sisters alive - the eldest being only 11 at the time! They all survived and now they are all well settled and came off the shocking loss; but without getting much of mother's love in their lives. I thought then, I was lucky at 18 to have lost my mother - 13 years more love and care I recieved from my mother then him! That letter healed my sorrows by about 90%. So Lampard, I would like to say, you also must think that way - you had your mother's love for nearly 25+ years in life - there must be thousands of men/women orphans of your age in UK alone who have lost their loving mothers much earlier than your age! But off course, there is nothing like mother in this whole world. I know it and feeling it for nearly 35 years now. But what to do - death is the ultimate truth. She left (my mother), yours left - so will we all someday! But we will and we must live our lives to cheerish the memories of the glorious years with our mothers in the world. Frank, I lost my wonderful Mother last summer, just as my son was 3 months old. I miss her every day. A best friend said something very wise to me, which funnily has really helped. She said I should take a few of my Mother's special qualities on board so that I would carry her with me forever. For me, this is wearing bright colours like she did (I'm normally in black) and becoming more open to strangers - she would talk to anyone. At times like this it doesn't matter what team you support or that Frank plays for Chelsea rather than West Ham. I have been fortunate to meet Frank (snr) whilst he was Assistant Manager at Upton Park not to mention watching and supporting him through his magnificent West Ham career. As a child I washed Frank Snr's car and pat was a lovely, lovely lady. I am a West ham fan and she even got me a signed programme when we won the cup in 1975. Two years ago I met Frank and Pat in Barcelona where I was being entertained Barca v Chelsea. I reintroduced myself to Pat and she was still as lovely as I remember. She spoke to me about Frank, Natalie and Claire and her grandchildren with such warmth and pride. She was as lovely as I remembered her 30 years earlier and will always remember her as a kind warm lady. I was very sad to hear about the death of Pat Lampard. She was very nice to my children several times after games at Stamford Bridge especially memorable was the occasion that one of them hit her on the head with a ball after a poorly aimed shot. She took it in great humour as did Frank's dad.She was obviously a wonderful mum and accepted being hit by a ball occasionally as just one of those things. She was a football woman through and through so will be sorely missed by the many fans that she happily mingled with after the game.
